We are searching for a skilled mid to senior level Network Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and support our growing network infrastructure in Enterprise Technology & Architecture (ET&A). The Network Engineer responsibilities include monitoring network performance, troubleshooting issues and outages, scheduling upgrades, collaborating with network architects on network optimization, and ensuring system security.
Our ideal candidates are familiar with network infrastructure including SD-WAN, firewalls, routers, switches, and associated network protocols and concepts. Ultimately, the role of the Network Engineer is to build and maintain high performance networks that meet our company’s needs. Network Hardware and Software Support
• Supports hardware and software for all network devices (Meraki Access Points) to include routers (Cisco), firewalls (CheckPoint, Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet).
• Troubleshoots network equipment and connectivity problems and provides support for network issues in a 24/7 on-call environment.
• Design and implement new network solutions and/or improve the efficiency of current networks.
• Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations.
Network Security
• Maintains and administers network security systems including Network Access Controls, Network Segmentation, CheckPoint, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco firewalls, Cisco Umbrella, web security.
• Stays abreast of network security & emerging trends and identifies risks to management.
• Reviews vendor-issued security releases and identifies corrective steps.
• Reviews MSSP security alerts and correspondence and reviews issues identified.
• Work with Cybersecurity to analyze and identify vulnerabilities discovered through security scans or other audits and tests.
Enterprise-wide Information Technology Network Hardware
• Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
• Assists in the design, implementation, and maintenance of the disaster recovery plan; regularly tests disaster recovery solution to assure its readiness when needed.
Leadership and Teamwork

• Must have effective communication skills to be able to work with all levels of the organization from Senior Leadership to vendors and staff. Must be able to provide consistent updates to key departments during projects, effectively communicate with management and have the ability to present status updates, proposals, tactics as necessary.
Compliance
• Adhere to company policy and procedure, complete annual compliance training, comply with business continuity and vendor management policy. These are crucial to the success of the organization and have regulatory compliance and/or safety and soundness for the sustainability of the credit union.
• Comply with all Anti Money Laundering laws such as the Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC and USA PATRIOT Act and all related policies and procedures including accurate Member/Customer Identification Program, member due diligence, accurate OFAC match processing, and reporting unusual activities and suspected fraud.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
• Four (4) year degree in a technology related field and:
• Minimum of (6) years demonstrated experience specifically in IT, as well as in the areas of network administration and management.
• Or 8 years plus experience specifically in IT with a similar role in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum of four (4) years demonstrated experience in managing networking systems, design of network systems, and LAN/WAN management required.
• Minimum of four (4) years demonstrated experience with Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls, with the demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex networks and phone systems.
• Demonstrated experience and knowledge of multiple network and communications protocols including DHCP, VPN, routers, switches, Meraki, and firewalls.
• Demonstrated excellence in network and data security practices and policies
Network Operating System Support
• One or more of the following current certifications are required:
o Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher
o Cisco Certified Technician (CCT) Routing & Switching
o Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)
o Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)
o Network Segmentation and Access Control Lists
o Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
o Or other Cisco certifications
o Experience in lieu of certifications would be considered.
Must be able to support modernization efforts, that will include the following:
• Cisco Catalyst 9300 Series Switches
• Cisco Umbrella
• Firewall Modernization (Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet)
• Network Segmentation
• SD-WAN
• Website Services (DNS, Domain, Sub-Domain)
• Disaster Recovery (Active to Active Data Centers)
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills to be able to resolve technical/complex questions regarding routers, access points, and switch configurations.
Exceptional communication skills (written, verbal, and listening) with the ability to communicate effectively with staff, leadership and vendors effectively. Must be able to deliver excellent customer service, represent BluPeak well and have good work ethics and integrity. Great analytical skills and a high level of organization and prioritization as well as experience in solving network problems, defining, researching and development of complex systems with minimal supervision.
